You never realize how much you miss the small comforts until they’re absent—like our beloved inflatable solar lanterns, the unsung heroes of cockpit evenings on our previous boats. These cute lanterns are the only items—so far—we realized we’d forgotten to bring along. Luckily, being in the Keys for several days has its perks, including the ability to order from Amazon with delivery to the local UPS store. And since it conveniently aligned with our ambitious 5.5-mile grocery haul, we jumped at the chance to snag two! The reward? As the sun dipped below the horizon, we were greeted by colorful, glowing lights that transformed the cockpit into a cozy oasis. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make all the difference on this grand adventure.
