Hey everyone, just a quick note: if you have noticed some oddball glitches on the blog lately—or perhaps a missing ‘Like’ button that went on vacation without telling anyone—that is on me. I have been on a midnight coding spree, jazzing up the site with a new theme (thanks to Sebastian Kosog on S/V Puffin for the inspiration!) and some custom-coded features, including selective content privacy. Naturally, I managed to crash the entire site a couple of nights ago (oops!), but fear not—I pulled an all-nighter to patch things up and bring those ‘Like’ buttons back from vacation. If you spot anything wonky or missing, please holler. I am still fine-tuning, and your feedback helps me crush more bugs (or so I hope.) Thanks!
I love the new design super modern looking! I have been missing the like button but I thought that was only on my end as I saw a loading message instead. But seems to be fixed now!
Super, thanks for feedback, love it! The missing ‘Like’ button was a coding error on my end. It’s back now, but still a little wonky at times. The occasional “hanging loading” is a well-known issue due to the way Jetpack has implemented the ‘Like’ feature and how it interacts with caching and individual browser configurations. Let’s keep an eye on it – if you’d notice frequent troubles, please let me know and I’d find another way to implement ‘likes’.
Das neue Design sieht schon gut aus, aber man ist natürlich viel mehr am scrollen, weil die eine Hälfte der Seite ja mit einem Bild ausgefüllt ist und nur auf der anderen Seite, eure Beiträge und Bilder. Das mit dem “Like-Button” habe ich auch bemerkt (ein Grund warum ich mehrmals versucht habe euch telefonisch zu erreichen). Bei mir funktioniert er im nächsten Beitrag wieder nicht. Sorry, Markus, eigentlich solltest Du jetzt keine Nächte mehr durcharbeiten müssen 😉
Scheint so, als ob der ‘Like-Button’ für dich wieder funktioniert? Zumindest sehe ich ganz viele ‘Likes’ von dir – prima, danke 🙂 Habe auch bemerkt, dass ab und zu noch das ‘Loading…’ Problem auftritt – das liegt dann aber an Jetpack (ein Plugin für WordPress) bzw. hat mit der Konfiguration deines Web Browsers und/oder Web-Caching zu tun. Falls das auftritt, bitte ein Auge d’rauf halten – normalerweise ergibt sich das von selbst wieder (z.B. nach einem Cache-Timeout). Falls nicht, sende mir bitte eine Signal-Nachricht und dann schaue ich nochmal genauer rein. Das macht Spass, ist keine Arbeit 🙂
